Austin & Brittney and their sweet kiddos mean the world to me, and I know for a fact that there are many people in their lives who feel the exact same way I do. I first met them when I photographed their engagment/wedding photos 7/8 years ago, and the minute you get to know them, you instantly fall in love with them. Over the years, I've been able to photograph different sessions for them and their extended families (& I've even asked if I could be adopted into the their family because they are all just the kind of people you want to love on and be loved by forever). Earlier this spring, Brittney's family buried her momma, who courageously battled cancer for 10 years. Even when Carol was at her lowest, her thoughts were never about herself or how miserable she was. She was a literal angel walking among us, and embodied Jesus' love for everyone she met. With a smile on her face, she's ask how I was, how our kids were, and reminded me that she was praying for Ian AND momma while he was serving over in Australia. She truly was one of the sweetest people I've ever known, and my heart broke for the whole Miller family in their incredible loss.
As they were all still trying to find a new balance and recovering from that incredible loss, Brittney received her own "c" diagnosis. Another fight for this family. And if I'm being honest, I told God that it didn't seem fair. Why them? Why now? But you know what, their love for Jesus is shining brightly even through all of this. And Austin & Brittney have a literal army of people who are picking right up where they left off, to fight alongside them. And my prayer is that through all of this, they will literally feel like they are being carried. Never fighting alone. Never facing treatment, surgery, or anything else without the support of everyone who's walking with them.
Please pray for this sweet family as she starts treatment. For their sweet little kiddos who will not understand everything. And for God to do a move beyond what any of us can imagine through their story and through their lives. He promises to bring beauty. And we are so counting on Him to do just that 🤍
