Their day took a bit longer than expected to arrive, so when it was finally time to start the party, the celebration was even more special. Bryan & Marissa were planning their wedding day before the whole world shut down in 2020 . . . with the uncertainty of everything happening, they went ahead and went to the court house in March, and said their vows before a judge mere days before everything shuttered for the next several months. Plans for an official wedding day and celebration with friends/family kept getting bumped back, and finally last month, they were able to have the day of their dreams.
We met up with the bride at the couple's home, where hair and makeup were being done. Everything was small & sweet, and we loved getting to photograph the couple around their hometown of Cleveland. The Art Museum, and the Cultural Gardens were both gorgeous backdrops for their portraits. And when photos at those locations were wrapped up, we headed to Forest City Brewery where their reception was about to get underway. Bryan & Marissa love to swing dance (& are amazing at it), and met while dancing at this brewery. So, it was an extra special location for them, and the brewery (inside & out) is just the cutest venue for a celebration. One of the most fun things for me to watch was them swing dancing, and even having a short tutorial for some of their guests who wanted to learn some of the dance steps. Photographing weddings over the past 12 years has let us see a lot of different types of dancing, but this is the first one that incorporated swing dancing, and I honestly could've sat and watched all of them dance for hours--so much fun!
Here is some of the gorgeousness from their day ❤️
Bryan & Marissa, thank you so much for letting us celebrate with you and capture your special day . . . even though it took a bit longer than you expected to arrive, we hope it was truly filled with all of the joy & love that are a part of your lives ❤️
