Lifestyle: Chemo Celebration
Last Thursday morning, I got a text from my friend, Jamie, asking if I would at all be interested in coming with her to her last chemo appointment. This dear lady has battled cancer 3 different times, and is celebrating finishing up this last round of chemo (PTL!). Even though I've known people who have gone through chemo, I've never actually gone to a treatment before, and since my day was pretty free, I happily agreed to go along and photograph this exciting day for her.
When you walk into the clinic, it doesn't take long at all to see that these nurses have a love not only for their job, but even more so for the people they are working with. They all were so excited for Jamie, and so instead of one nurse being assigned to her, they just jokingly said that they were all going to be her nurse for the last treatment.
Jamie has such a heart for people around her, and wanted to bless the staff there at the clinic with a special treat. When she was looking for ideas of what to do, Rayonna (from The Faithful Little Cupcake) heard about it and happily donated these beautiful cookies for the nurses and staff. Even some of the other patients got to enjoy the treats . . .

Jamie's husband and 2 younger kids were along to help celebrate, so Jerren helped keep everyone entertained.

On her way out, Jamie got to read this poem and then ring the bell. There were not very many dry eyes after this . . .
Jamie, thank you so much for letting me tag along and photograph your final chemo treatment. I was honored to be there celebrating with you, and pray that you can experience health and that your body will never have to fight off cancer again. Blessings to you, my friend.
